There are some of the interesting things you may want to know, there are very less number of developers available in the World for developing Android Apps. And Developing Android apps is much easier than for iOS, Symbian or any other mobile OS. If you have develop the Apps for Android you can provide it through Android Store. In this post i will tell you how to install Android SDK on Windows 7 or Xp.
1.Download the latest version of the JDK from the Oracle Website.Follow the link and install it by double clicking.
2.Now you need to Specify the path so that every time when you run the java compiler you do not have to specify the path. So go to control panel>>System and Security>>System. In the left panel click on the Advanced System Settings. This will open the System Properties window.
3.Now click on Environment Variables>>New. Type the variable Name as Path and variable Value as “C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26\bin“.
#Install Eclipse IDE
1.Download the Eclipse IDE(Eclipse Helois or greater is recommended) and install it just by extracting it and running eclipse.exe file.
#Download Android SDK
Download the Android SDK, if the file is zip format then unzip it. And install it
#Install ADT Plugin for Eclipse
ADT is the plugin for Eclipse which will let you quickly set up new Android projects, create an application UI, add components based on the Android Framework API, debug your applications using the Android SDK tools, and even export signed (or unsigned) .apk files in order to distribute your application.It is the fastest way to get started.
1.Run the Eclipse.exe >> Help >> Install new Software. Click on Add, in the top-right corner and in the Add Repository dialog that appears, enter “ADT Plugin” for the Name and the following URL for the Location and click ok.
2.In the Available Software dialog, select the checkbox next to Developer Tools and click Next and accept the license then Finish.
3.After the installation completes Eclipse will restart itself.
4.Now you need to modify the ADT preferences in Eclipse to point to the Android SDK directory. For this, open Eclipse then go to windows >> Preferences and in the left panel select the Android.
5.In the main panel, click Browse and locate your downloaded SDK directory then click on Apply and ok.
#Adding Platform and other Components
To download essential SDK components into your development environment use the Android SDK and AVD Manager.In the Eclipse, select Window >> Android SDK and AVD Manager. Double-click the SDK Manager.exe file at the root of the Android SDK directory.
